The New York Virtuoso Singers Perform

The New York Virtuoso Singers

Founded in 1988 by conductor Harold Rosenbaum, The New York Virtuoso Singers have become this country's leading exponent of contemporary choral music. Although the chorus performs music of all periods, its emphasis is on commissioning, performing and recording the music of American composers.

New CD! Coming Soon...

In September NYVS recorded the choral music of Nancy Wertsch conducted by Harold Rosenbaum on the MSR label at the Church of the Resurrection on Manhattan's upper east side. The CD's title work "...with Peace in Mind" is a 9/11 tenth anniversary commemorative work setting of prayers from five world religions: Jewish, Christian, Hindu, Muslim, and Native American. It was commissioned and premiered by NYVS this past spring and we will be performing it again at our spring concert on May 13th, 2012. The CD will include two other multi-movement choral works: Hymnus Matutinus, a setting of Latin texts by the fourth century Christian poet Aurelius Prudentius, and a setting of four poems by Alfred Lord Tennyson. The CD will be released spring 2012.
