New York City-Wide
Choral Composition Competition
For
High School and College Students

Maestro Harold Rosenbaum and his all-professional New York Virtuoso Singers announce a choral composition competition for students in NYC public and private high schools and colleges.
The Winners: The winners will receive a public performance by the choir in NYC during the 2024-2025 season, a $100 award, and an archival recording.
The composition must meet the following criteria:

1. Scored for SATB choir
2. A cappella
3. Up to approximately 5 minutes in duration.

Dr. Rosenbaum will choose composers based on their past compositions (not limited to choral works) and on recommendations from the student's choral director, theory teacher or composition instructor. Dr. Rosenbaum also offers to assist or mentor the chosen students as needed during their compositional process.
Interested students (or their teachers) should email Dr. Rosenbaum at:

either with attachments of past compositions (again, not limited to choral) or with questions.
The deadline for submissions is April 15, 2023.

We are also offering free tickets to any of Dr. Rosenbaum’s 2023 winter/spring concerts with NYVS. Please email Dr. Rosenbaum about this if you are interested.
